About Us

SA Education Hub is a South African education information platform designed to help students and the public access accurate and reliable information about post-school education.

We focus on universities, universities of technology, TVET colleges, private colleges, community colleges, bursaries and online courses. We do not cover primary or high schools.

Many students struggle to verify whether an institution is registered and accredited. There is also a growing problem of fraudulent institutions, fake bursary offers and scam “assistance” accounts on WhatsApp and social media that mislead students, leading to financial loss and wasted time.

What you’ll find on SA Education Hub:

• An Institutions directory covering universities, universities of technology, TVET colleges, private colleges and community colleges, each showing accreditation status and a current application status — Open, Closed or Opening Soon — that updates automatically as dates change.
• A Bursaries section listing funding opportunities with closing dates, eligibility criteria, what the funding covers, and a direct link to the official application page. We never process applications or collect your documents ourselves.
• Online Courses — free and paid short courses hosted by other providers, for building skills or a certificate outside the traditional degree path.
• An APS Calculator that estimates your Admission Point Score from your matric results and shows programmes and institutions you may realistically qualify for — including options at Higher Certificate and Diploma level, not only Degree-entry routes.
• Education News covering application windows, bursary deadlines, scam warnings and other developments, each item labelled with a status (Official, Verified, Information, Reminder, Urgent or Scam Alert) and, where available, a link to the original official source and the date it was last checked.

How we handle verification: institution and bursary pages link back to the provider’s own website wherever possible, and many carry a “last verified” date so you can see how current the information is. Where a detail could not be confirmed, we say so rather than guess.

A small number of institutions and bursaries pay for Featured placement, which affects where they appear on the site. This is always clearly labelled and has no bearing on — and is never a substitute for — their accreditation, registration or verification status.

SA Education Hub is an independent, privately run platform. We are not a government agency, an institution, or a funder, and we do not register, accredit, admit students, or process applications on anyone’s behalf. Every “Apply” or “Official Application Page” link takes you directly to the provider’s own website to complete your application.

We encourage users to always verify institutions and funding opportunities directly with the relevant official body — the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), the Council on Higher Education (CHE), or NSFAS — before applying, enrolling, or making any payment.
