Momentum Actuarial Science Youth Bursary — closes late August 2026
Momentum Group’s Actuarial Science bursary for high-achieving students is closing soon. Reported closing dates vary slightly between sources (29–31 August 2026), so confirm the exact date and time directly with Momentum before finalising your application. The bursary is aimed at students pursuing Actuarial Science, based in Centurion, Sandton or Cape Town.
WENOSA Scholarship — closes 31 August 2026, 23:59
The Women’s Empowerment Network of South Africa (WENOSA) Scholarship offers up to R50,000 toward outstanding tuition fees for final-year female students at public universities. 25 scholarships are available (10 undergraduate, 15 postgraduate). You must be a South African citizen, registered at a public university, in your final year during 2026, hold a 65% academic average, and be able to demonstrate financial need. Funding is paid directly to your university, not to you. Verify the final application form and supporting-document requirements through the official listing before applying.
SA–JINR Student Practice — nomination deadline 30 September 2026
This is a student-practice opportunity, not a bursary — practical research exposure in science, engineering, mathematics and computing at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. It requires nomination and institutional endorsement, so check with your university’s international or research office about the process well before the deadline.
France–South Africa Scholarship Programme 2027 — closes 8 October 2026, 23:59 SAST
Postgraduate study opportunities in France for South African students, published via the Department of Higher Education and Training. Confirm eligible fields of study, degree level, French admission requirements and what the funding actually covers on the official DHET scholarship page before applying.

DHET has posted a notice indicating registration is open for Russian Government Scholarships for South African students. However, the closing date, eligible study fields and nomination process haven’t been confirmed yet. We’ll publish full application guidance once those details are verified — check the official DHET scholarship page directly if you don’t want to wait.
Closing dates for third-party-funded bursaries and scholarships can change without notice, and different sources sometimes report slightly different dates for the same opportunity, as with the Momentum bursary above.
