Mopani South East TVET College was established in 2003 from the merger of Sir Val Duncan Technical, Phalaborwa Technical and Mapulaneng Technical Colleges; in 2006 the Mapulaneng campus (Bushbuckridge) was de-merged and transferred to Mpumalanga following a provincial demarcation change. The college is now headquartered in Phalaborwa, Limpopo, comprising the Sir Val Duncan Campus (Namakgale, specialising in engineering trades), the Phalaborwa Campus (business studies), the Mosate Hotel School (hospitality/tourism training in a working hotel environment) and a Hoedspruit satellite campus. Its site reported 4,755 registered students as of an April 2026 update, spread across NCV, distance/online learning, NATED business and engineering, occupational and pre-vocational streams, alongside roughly 48 employer/industry partnerships and 18 accredited training workshops.
