Belgium Campus iTversity was founded in 1999 as South Africa's first dedicated 'ITversity,' a private higher education institution specialising exclusively in information technology and computing education. It operates campuses in Pretoria, Kempton Park, and Stellenbosch, alongside online study options, and pioneered a 'Participative Development Model' (introduced in 2009) that integrates academic learning with industry requirements to produce work-ready IT graduates. The institution is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997, with Registration Certificate No. 2003/HE08/001, and states that all its programmes are accredited in South Africa and recognised internationally. It also offers a specialised diploma stream for Deaf students studying software development.
