Overview
Responsive Web Design Certification is freeCodeCamp’s project-based introduction to building websites with HTML and CSS. The curriculum covers semantic HTML, working with forms, accessibility basics, CSS fundamentals, CSS Flexbox, CSS Grid, and responsive design techniques for making layouts work across screen sizes. Learners work through a large number of guided practice exercises before tackling required certification projects, building real pages rather than just watching videos.
It’s aimed at complete beginners to web development who want a structured, hands-on path into front-end coding, with an emphasis on repetition and a tight feedback loop of tests, error messages, and hints as you write actual code.
The course is entirely free, self-paced, and open to anyone with an internet connection. On completing the required certification projects and passing their test suites, learners earn freeCodeCamp’s Responsive Web Design certification, which can be listed as a credential without any payment required.
