The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and the Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Services SETA) launched the PowerX² (“To the Power of X²”) programme at the Mahikeng Hotel School in North West on 7 August 2026.
The programme is described as offering structured 24-month workplace opportunities for 20,000 unemployed university and TVET graduates, beginning with a rollout in North West before expanding to other provinces. It is aimed at graduates who struggle to find work because they lack the experience many employers require.
Applications are not yet confirmed as open. We have not been able to verify an official application link, start dates, eligible qualifications, age or location requirements, stipend amount, host employer list, or the provincial rollout timetable.
