Overview
Cloud Computing Fundamentals is the first course in Google’s four-part Cloud Computing Foundations learning path on Google Cloud Skills Boost. It gives an introductory overview of what cloud computing is, the main ways organisations can use Google Cloud, and the different compute options available, setting up the later courses in the path which move on to infrastructure, networking and security, and data, ML and AI topics.
It’s built for people with little to no prior background in cloud computing – a genuine starting point for beginners, career-changers, or anyone wanting to understand core cloud concepts before going deeper into Google Cloud’s platform.
The course runs around 8 hours and is self-paced. Learners who complete it can earn a Google Cloud skill badge, and more experienced learners have the option to skip straight to a Challenge Lab hands-on assessment to earn the badge faster.
