Overview

The CHIETA Industrial Futures Bursary supports unemployed South African youth studying chemical-sector-aligned qualifications such as Chemical Engineering, covering tuition up to R76,000 per year for successful applicants.

What it covers

Tuition fees based on the official statement of account, up to a maximum of R76,000 per annum for undergraduate studies

Eligibility

Unemployed South African citizens aged 16-35 who have completed Matric (with Mathematics and Physical Science, minimum overall average around 75% in recent cycles) and have been accepted at an accredited public university or TVET college for a chemical-sector-aligned qualification; household income generally capped (recent cycles used a threshold around R600,000 per annum)

Required documents

Certified copies of ID (applicant and parents/guardians, not older than 6 months), proof of household income, matric certificate/results, proof of acceptance or registration at a tertiary institution
