Camelot International was established in 1985 and specializes exclusively in spa, wellness and beauty education, operating campuses in Houghton, Johannesburg and Bellville, Cape Town. Its flagship and apparently sole higher education offering is the three-year, NQF Level 6 Diploma in Somatology (Spa Therapy specialisation, SAQA ID 124205). The institution is provisionally registered as a private higher education institution with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), registration certificate No. 2025/HE07/004, valid until 31 December 2028. It also holds professional/industry memberships with CIDESCO, ITEC (International Therapist Examination Council), SAAHSP (South African Association of Health and Sports Professionals), APPETD and the SA Spa Association. Camelot has close ties to the Camelot Spa group, with graduates placed into Camelot Spa's 5-star spa properties. Separately, shorter beauty/spa courses are offered under an affiliated brand, DMR Short Courses (dmrbeauty.co.za), which appears to be distinct from the DHET-registered higher education diploma programme.
