Cape Town Baptist Seminary (CTBS) traces its origins to 1954, when Western Cape Baptist churches began discussing a theological college, and was formally established in 1972 as the Western Province branch of the Baptist Theological College of South Africa. It has been based since 1979 at 52-64 Tarentaal Road, Bridgetown, Cape Town, having previously operated from Brand Street, Athlone. CTBS specialises in theological and ministry training, aiming to develop professional, confident, and transformational Christian servant leaders for churches and society across Africa. It is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) under registration certificate number 2000/HE08/005. Its Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor of Ministry degrees are SAQA-registered at NQF Level 8 (honours-equivalent).

- Master of Theology (MTh) – offered in cooperative partnership with the University of Pretoria, with CTBS providing research methodology and thesis supervision support
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – offered in cooperative partnership with the University of Pretoria, with CTBS providing research methodology and thesis supervision support
- Pulse Programmes – short, low-cost, non-formal courses covering basic Christian doctrine and ministry fundamentals, taken directly to local churches
- Higher Certificate in Christian Leadership (HCCL) – listed by the institution as a programme in development/seeking accreditation (not yet confirmed as fully accredited/offered)
