Damelin is one of South Africa's oldest and largest private college brands, marketing nearly 80 years of career-focused education across six campuses (Braamfontein, Randburg, Menlyn, Durban, Overport and Cape Town). It offers qualifications spanning postgraduate diplomas, bachelor's degrees, diplomas, higher certificates, certificates, skills programmes and short learning programmes across four faculties: Commerce, Science & Technology, Humanities and Education, in fields such as business management, marketing, IT, media/graphic design, education (early childhood development) and engineering. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: Damelin's own site still advertises itself as DHET-registered (Reg. 2001/HE07/009), CHE-accredited and QCTO-accredited, but DHET's official register (6 July 2026 edition) lists Damelin's registration as CANCELLED effective 27 January 2026, for failing to submit required compliance documents (audited financial statements, academic records, student data). A teach-out arrangement for existing students runs to 31 December 2026. Prospective students should NOT treat Damelin as a currently, normally-accredited institution and should verify status directly with DHET before enrolling.
