Design Time School of Interior Design is a small, privately-run higher education institution founded in 1987, making it one of the longest-established interior design schools in South Africa. It operates from a single boutique campus at 63-65 Trill Road, Observatory, Cape Town. The school specialises exclusively in interior design education, offering a three-year, NQF Level 6 Diploma in Interior Design that combines design theory, technical drawing, computer skills and building construction with practical studio-based and real-world projects. Design Time is an Approved Educational Member of IID (the African Institute of the Interior Design Professions), the recognised professional body for interior designers in South Africa, though the institution's own website does not display explicit CHE, DHET or SAQA registration numbers. Over roughly 27 years of operation it has produced more than 600 graduates, several of whom have gone on to award-winning careers locally and internationally.
