Esri South Africa (Pty) Ltd was established in 1989 in Johannesburg and is the exclusive distributor of Esri's ArcGIS GIS software in southern Africa, with offices in Midrand, Durban, Cape Town, George and Pietermaritzburg. Its training arm, Esri South Africa College, based at 113 Enterprise Ave, Midridge Park, Midrand, is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a private higher education institution. The College offers a part-time Diploma in Geoinformation Science and Technology (GISc & T) — an NQF Level 6, 252-credit qualification accredited by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) and the Council for Higher Education (CHE), and recognised by the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) — alongside short, instructor-led ArcGIS product-training courses. Esri South Africa is the only Esri International Accredited Learning Centre in Southern Africa.
