Henley Business School Africa (also known as Henley Business School South Africa) is a private higher education institution based in Paulshof, Johannesburg, and is the South African branch of the UK's Henley Business School, part of the University of Reading. It was established in 1992 when Henley's MBA was introduced to the South African market under licence to the Graduate Institute of Management Technology (GIMT), with the first cohort of 18 MBA graduates in 1995; it became a fully integrated subsidiary of Henley/University of Reading in 2002, following Henley Management College's 2008 merger with the University of Reading. MBA and DBA degrees are awarded jointly by the UK and South African institutions. All programmes delivered in South Africa are registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and recognised by SAQA. Internationally, Henley holds accreditation from AMBA (UK), EQUIS (Europe) and AACSB (USA) – often cited as 'triple accreditation' – and was the first international business school to gain accreditation from the African Association of Business Schools (AABS), giving it quadruple-accredited status. Henley Africa has been rated the number one MBA business school in South Africa by PMR.africa for multiple consecutive years, and its Global Executive MBA has been ranked by the Financial Times. Its main campus is at 1 Witkoppen Road, Paulshof, Johannesburg.
