Generative AI Basics is a short introductory module that explains what generative AI is and the technology that powers it, without assuming any technical background. It’s aimed at general end users who want to understand generative AI concepts rather than developers or specialists.
It’s a quick, foundational starting point — Salesforce lists it at around 20 minutes to complete — making it a good first step before diving into more advanced AI trails. It also feeds into several other Trailhead paths, including trails on getting ready for Agentforce and building AI agents.
On completion you earn a Foundational-level badge worth 200 points, plus an introductory grounding in AI, automation, and business intelligence concepts that sets you up for further Salesforce AI learning.
