Unisa’s 2027 application window, which opened 17 August 2026, is confirmed live. Here’s what applicants need to know now that the portal is open.
- Undergraduate, Honours and postgraduate diplomas: 17 August – 9 October 2026
- Master’s and doctoral applications: open 1 September 2026
- Short Learning Programmes: open 2 November 2026
Applicants can apply for up to three qualifications, ranked in order of preference, for a single non-refundable application fee of R150 (paid after you receive a student number). Applying does not guarantee admission — popular qualifications, including Nursing, can close before the general deadline, so apply as early as possible within the window.
Watch out for scams
Apply only through unisa.ac.za. Fake application websites and WhatsApp “assistance” services claiming to speed up or guarantee your Unisa application are common every intake — Unisa does not use third-party agents to process applications.
Always confirm the current application fee and specific programme requirements directly on Unisa’s official site before applying.
