International Hotel School (IHS) is a South African private higher education institution specialising in hospitality, hotel management and culinary education. The legal entity is International Hotel School (Pty) Ltd (Reg No. 1992/006526/07), established in 1994 (operating for over 30 years), and it is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a Private Higher Education Institution under Registration No. 2000/HE07/005, with an additional Further Education registration (No. 2009/FE07/077). Its higher education programmes are accredited/quality-assured by the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and it is registered with the QCTO as an accredited Skills Development Provider. IHS operates six campuses across South Africa – Johannesburg (Sandton), Benoni, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town (Salt River) and Gqeberha – plus a national in-service traineeship programme and an online campus. It is part of the Invictus Education Group and is affiliated with Sommet Education (parent of Glion Institute of Higher Education, Les Roches and Ecole Ducasse), through which it offers exclusive Ecole Ducasse culinary certification in South Africa. IHS states it is the only South African tertiary institution offering programmes recognised by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and is a Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH) Gold Centre.
