St Joseph's Theological Institute (RF) NPC (SJTI) is a Catholic institute of higher learning located at D546, Cedara, in the Umngeni Municipality near Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Founded in 1943, it is dedicated to advancing philosophical, theological, and human and social development enquiry, forming candidates for ordained and non-ordained ministry within the Catholic Church as well as lay students, in a strongly African and ecumenical context. SJTI is part of an ecumenical academic cluster alongside the School of Religion, Philosophy and Classics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the Evangelical Seminary of Southern Africa.
