EFL South Africa NPC is the legal (non-profit) entity behind the industry body historically trading as "Education South Africa" (EduSA), which rebranded to "English South Africa" (ESA) in 2023. Its origins trace to ELTASA (English Language Travel Association of South Africa), founded in 2003 by nine centres, which became EduSA around 2009-2010. Headquartered at 70 Wale Street, Cape Town, it is a national association and quality-assurance body for private English-as-a-Foreign-Language (EFL) centres, rather than a conventional teaching campus itself; member schools, concentrated in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria, deliver the actual tuition. It is listed on the DHET Register of Private Colleges (registration no. 2018/FE07/035) and was provisionally registered under the QCTO/CET Act to offer the FET Certificate: Foundation Learning Competence (NQF Level 2). Note: this is an industry association, not a multi-faculty higher education institution.
