Overview
The Standard Bank Group Bursary Programme is designed to promote academic excellence and shape the next generation of African talent and leaders. It funds undergraduate students from their second year onward, as well as postgraduate students up to Master’s level.
The bursary is a full-cost award covering university fees, accommodation, meals, books and study materials, a laptop, a monthly stipend and transport. Bursary holders may be required to work for Standard Bank if offered employment after graduation.
The programme is administered by StudyTrust on behalf of Standard Bank Group.
Who Can Apply
Registered full-time for undergraduate studies (2nd year onwards) or postgraduate studies up to Master's level at a public institution
Financial need is considered
Bursary holders commit to working for Standard Bank if offered employment after graduation
Supported Study Fields
Agriculture, Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, Science (Actuarial, Analytics, Business, Computer, Data, Information), Statistics, Technology, and disciplines within Behavioural Economics
What the Bursary Covers
Accommodation (residence or private, subject to limits)
Meals
Books and other study materials
A laptop computer
A monthly stipend for living costs
Transport between home and campus (4 times a year)
Required Documents
Proof of all academic results to date (Grade 12 certificate and full tertiary academic record)
Proof of combined household income
