Overview
This free Oracle University path prepares learners for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2025 Foundations Associate certification (exam 1Z0-1085-25), Oracle’s entry-level cloud credential. It is organized around core OCI skill areas: fundamentals of OCI architecture and its distributed cloud model, working with compartments, authentication and authorization, and setting up a tenancy; networking topics such as virtual cloud networks (VCNs), routing, security, and load balancers; and compute services covering compute instances, scaling strategies, Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), container workloads, and serverless functions via Oracle Functions. Exam preparation also touches core OCI services, security services, and governance and administration.
Oracle recommends a basic understanding of cloud computing concepts before starting, but no deep technical background is required, making it a good fit for people new to cloud infrastructure, career switchers, and non-technical roles such as sales or procurement who need working OCI literacy alongside technical staff confirming their fundamentals.
Finishing the path and passing the associated exam leads to the OCI Foundations Associate certification. Note this 2025 edition of the path is scheduled to be archived by Oracle on 30 September 2026.
