Overview

Transnet awards bursaries to South African students in engineering, IT and select commercial fields relevant to freight rail, ports and pipelines, covering tuition, accommodation and experiential training in return for a post-study work-back obligation.

Tuition fees, textbook allowance, accommodation, meals, and experiential/vacation training; awards renew annually subject to academic performance

Eligibility

South African citizens under 25 years old who have completed or are completing Matric with at least Level 5 (60%) in English and relevant subjects, studying or intending to study full-time at a recognised South African institution in an eligible field. Preference given to designated Employment Equity groups; applicants with disabilities encouraged to apply. Recipients must render one year of service to Transnet for every year of funding received, subject to vacancy availability.
