Boland TVET College traces its roots to 1998, when the Western Cape Education Department consolidated 15 existing technical colleges into six larger institutions; the merger process for Boland concluded in 2001, bringing together older institutions dating back to 1918 (Stellenbosch), 1963 (Strand), 1968 (Paarl) and 1970 (Worcester, which also absorbed Söhnge Teachers' College). It is a rural-based college with five campuses: Stellenbosch (head office), Paarl, Worcester, Strand and Caledon (opened 2002). The college is organised into six faculties — Economic & Management Sciences, Engineering Studies, Hospitality & Tourism, Information Technology & Agriculture, Office Management Sciences, and Social & Security Sciences — and has recently been recognised with clean audit outcomes and industry awards.
