Motheo TVET College is one of four public TVET colleges in the Free State, serving the Motheo and Xhariep districts from a central office in Bloemfontein. Per widely repeated third-party accounts (not itemised on the college's own site), it was formally established on 1 April 2002 through the merger of the former Bloemfontein, Hillside View and Thaba Nchu technical colleges with Kagisanong College of Education, as part of the national rationalisation of roughly 152 technical colleges into 50 mega-colleges. It now comprises nine campuses/centres — Bloemfontein, Hillside View, Thaba Nchu, Botshabelo, Koffiefontein, Zastron, Plot 32, the National Artisan Development Academy and the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Rapid Incubator — and reports over 9,000 registered students with an 88% pass rate. The college holds ISO 9001:2015 accreditation and several industry awards, and maintains international partnerships (UK, Scotland, Germany).
