Overview
AWS Security Fundamentals is a self-paced AWS Skill Builder course, running to roughly two hours of material across around 14 topics, that introduces core AWS cloud security concepts. It covers the shared responsibility model, cloud and infrastructure security, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and access control, data encryption methods, detective controls, incident response, and an overview of the AWS Well-Architected security tools.
The course is aimed at IT and business-level professionals interested in cloud security practice, as well as security professionals who have only minimal hands-on AWS experience and want a structured introduction before going deeper into AWS security services.
By the end, learners can identify AWS’s and their own security responsibilities in the cloud, describe how AWS access control and encryption work, explain how to secure network access to AWS resources, and identify which AWS services support security logging and monitoring. AWS Skill Builder issues an e-certificate on completion.
