Overview
Web Development and Coding, part of NEMISA’s free Digital Skills Platform (dsp.nemisa.co.za), is an entry-level introduction to how websites and web applications are built. It is aimed at complete beginners and focuses on the fundamentals: how web pages are structured, the basic logic behind writing and reading code, and the general workflow of building something for the web, rather than deep, language-specific development work.
It suits students, job seekers, and career changers who are curious about a future in software or web development but have no prior programming experience, giving them a low-risk way to find out whether coding is a direction worth pursuing further.
Learners finish with a foundational understanding of web development concepts and basic coding logic, exposure to how digital products are put together, and a NEMISA certificate of completion, which can support further study or more advanced, vendor-run coding and IT programmes offered through NEMISA’s partner network.
